At age 92, he was bravely fighting with cerebrovascular disease. For those not familiar with the illness, Cerebrovascular disease is a group of brain dysfunctions related to disease of blood vessels supplying the brain. It's a slow agonizing way to die.
With his family by his side at his home in Manhattan, New York, he passed peacefully. Now, he can rest without having to feel anymore pain.
His legacy he leaves behind is unbelievable. Without a doubt, every news anchor on air today has Cronkite to thank for the opportunity that they have today. He was a pioneer in his field and an all around great guy. The world will miss him. May he rest in peace.
